SRINAGAR, July 21: J&K State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) XI and State Football Academy (SFA) XI were among the eight teams, which emerged as the winners on day-1 of the ongoing16th J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with JKFA, here.
In the first match, JKSRTC defeated Fort View FC by three goals to one (3-1).
From JKSRTC, the goal scorers were Rahul, Shafat Bashir and Sanjeev, while Shah Zariak was the goal scorer for Fort View FC.
SFA XI defeated Arco FC in an easy contest by four goals to one (4-1). Despite SFA’s brilliant win, Kamran Hameed of Arco FC was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, DFA Hnadwara got the better of DFA Sopore by two goals to one (2-1). Syed Ahmad Ganai of DFA Handwara was adjudged as the man of the match.
Shaheen FC Jammu thrashed DFA Kupwara by four goals to nil (4-0), Rajesh Thapa of Shaheen FC Jammu was declared as the man of the match.
Hajjin Zone outplayed DFA Leh by six goals to one (6-1) in a one-sided contest. Gowhar Majeed of Hajjin Zone was adjudged as the man of the match.
In the sith match of the day, Novelty FC scripted a solitary goal win over DFA Baramulla (1-0). Faisal Laway of Novelty FC was adjudged as the man of the match.
In yet another match, Iqbal Sports trounced Rafiabad Zone by two goals to one (2-1). Mohammad Aihyaan of Iqbal Sports was declared as the man of the match, while in last match of the day, DFA Bandipora prevailed over Hyderia FC by a solitary goal (1-0). Danish Tara of DFA Bnadipora was adjudged as the man of the match.
