UDHAMPUR, Dec 28 : A deputation of the district unit of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF) today submitted a memorandum of demands to District Development Commissioner (DDC), Udhampur, Neeraj Kumar.
The deputation demanded the DDC to arrange grants under SSA, RMSA and NPS schemes, as the teachers/Masters working under these schemes are without salary for last 5-6 months and are facing a lot of mental financial agony.
It was also demanded to release Mid Day Meal (MDM) grants to clear the pending dues of the teachers concerned, who have already spent a considerable amount out of their own pocket to carry on this centrally sponsored scheme.
It was also highlighted in the memorandum that the training programmes for teaching fraternity should be held in the Summer/Winter vacations so that the studies may not be hampered during the peak season.
The deputation further said that the History and Civics books of class 6th being taught presently vary with the syllabus issued by the SIE in December 2016 and keeping in view that it is very difficult to teach the new books as per syllabus, so new syllabus be implemented from the new session to avoid any frustration among the students as the session is at its fag end.
It was further demanded that the teachers who were promoted as Masters in DPC held in February 2014 be adjusted at the earliest, as they are facing many problems and rendered as juniors to their counterparts in Kashmir province.
Ram Parsad, Surinder Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Satvir Choudhary, Ravi Padha and many others were part of the deputation.
