JAMMU, Aug 28: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary of the Forum for threadbare discussion regarding various issues being faced by the teaching fraternity.
While speaking in the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria expressed resentment against controversial decision of the State Government to train untrained teachers through NIOS for undergoing DEED, whether these teachers are 10+2, Graduate, PG & above and also creating a bar of 50 percent marks at 10+2 level.
JKTF condemned the decision and demanded that Graduate & PG Teachers be directly deputed to do B Ed through Distance Mode in IGNOU or UGC recognized Universities and 12th Pass teachers be sent to do DEED from J&K BOSE or DIETs by removing bar of 50 percent marks at 10th level.
Ganesh Khajuria stressed that MHRD should consider the problems sympathetically and issue an amendment order for exempting those who are already undergoing B Ed after taking proper permission.
The speakers appealed the Education Minister to personally intervene in this sensitive issue and come in rescue of thousands of untrained teachers of J&K State.
