JKTMA discusses impact of COVID-19 on education

UDHAMPUR, May 11: Jammu Kashmir Teacher/Master Association (JKTMA) held its virtual meeting through video conferencing here today and discussed the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on education and role of teachers to mitigate its adverse effects through online education.
The meeting was organised under the leadership of State president, Rakesh Gupta and State vice-president, Vivek Gupta and overall supervision of State chairman, Ravindar Kumar.
During the meeting, the Association members unanimously passed the resolution to work tirelessly to make the online home classes successful by utilizing all the available resources of online teaching learning material by following all the necessary guidelines issued by the authority concerned.
The Association appealed the Principal Secretary to speed up the process of DPC of teachers, masters and lecturers and also create regular post of masters and GLT to absorb post-less head teachers and grade-2 and grade-3 supernumerary teachers against these post to streamline their salary.
Others who spoke in the meeting were Hoshiyar Singh Chouhan, State chief; Vikram Gupta, State general secretary; Rakesh Sharma, District president Udhampur; State secretary, Ajay Sharma and many others.
