JAMMU, Sept 22: The JKUT Invitational Karate-Do Championship, organized by the Traditional Karate-Do Association of J&K took place at the Indoor Sports Complex in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The event saw participation from 575 students across various districts, clubs and academies.
Gul Sarkhab was the chief guest, with Naresh Chander, President of the Traditional Karate-Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir, serving as the guest of honour. They distributed medals to the winners and commended all participants. Gul Sarkhab highlighted the importance of karate in modern times, while Ritika Jamwal, Manager of the Bhagwati Nagar Sports Complex, was the special guest of the championship.
The championship was conducted under the supervision of Shihan Umesh Rekhi, Referee Commission Chairman (TKAJK), with Shihan Shashi Janotra as the tournament director and Shihan Suhel Ashraf as the tournament manager. The bouts were officiated by a team including Ajay Gill, Digvijay, Ravi, Aryan Sharma, Naresh Bhagat, Pawan Choudhary, Sam Gurung, Happy Kohli, Rakesh Kumar, Mahesh, Tanisha Mahajan and Neetu Devi.
