JAMMU, June 4: In view of forthcoming annual Amarnath Yatra, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has geared itself to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation in the City of Temples.
This was revealed by Baldev Singh Bilawaria, Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee of JMC today while addressing a press conference.
He said that 200 safai karamcharies will be on job for cleanliness during yatra period and special arrangements will be made for ensuring proper cleanliness and sanitation at yatra base camp in Bhagwati Nagar.

He stated that sign board’s right from Purmandal Morh (beginning of JMC limits) to Bhagwati Nagar will be displayed by JMC for the convenience and facilitation of yatris to reach the base camp.
The Chairman also informed that 90 per cent work of cleaning major nallahs in Jammu has been completed and remaining 10 per cent will be accomplished very shortly.
JMC Health Officer, Dr. M.S Khan and Chief Transport Officer, Talat Mehmood were also present in the press conference.
