JAMMU, Oct 14: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today organised a workshop cum interaction programme regarding IEC which is one of the components of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta; Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma and all the JMC Councillors participated in the workshop and gave their suggestions and feedback for the effective implementation of SBM.
The workshop took place in four groups following the protocols of COVID-19 pandemic.
All India Institute of Local Self Government gave a detailed presentation on the forthcoming IEC activities to be done in Jammu City.
They educated the participants about Swachh Survekshan and improving the ranking of Jammu City. The awareness activities will be undertaken in two months like house to house awareness surveys, social media campaigns, nukkad natak and many other things will be done to create awareness of SBM among the citizens of Jammu city.
The workshop has been conducted under the guidance of JMC Commissioner, Avny Lavasa along with Joint Commissioner (A), Ashish Kumar Gupta; Secretary, Tinna Mahajan and other senior officers and officials of JMC.
The JMC officials and All India Institute of Local Self Government impressed upon seeking the coordination of the Councillors to implement IEC activities and to make the city garbage free.
