JAMMU, July 22: Jammu Municipal Corporation organized a quiz competition in collaboration with KC Public School, here today.
Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment and Social Welfare, Bali Bhagat was the chief guest and Municipal Commissioner, Soujanya Sharma was the guest of honour. Raju Choudhary, Managing Director, KC Educational Society was also present.
Four teams namely A, B, C and D participated in the competition. Team-A comprised of Arshiya Mahajan, Adhyoksh Jyoti and Ekalaiya Gandotra, team B comprised of Dhananjay Raina, Kumari Anjalideep and Samarah Bhat. Team C comprised of Ayushmaan Sharma, Shriya Lahori and Tushar Wadhawan and team D comprised of Shreya Mohan, Tanishka Pathania and Avneesh Dhar.
The first prize of Rs. 3000 was won by team C, second prize of Rs. 2000 went to team D, third of Rs. 1000 was bagged by team A and 4th and final prize of Rs. 500 (consolation) was won by team B.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhagat appreciated the Jammu Municipal Corporation as well as KC Public School, Jammu for conducting such type of quiz competitions.
The Municipal Commissioner, JMC thanked the Minister for sparing his precious time and encouraging the organizers. He appealed the gathering not to use polythene, which, he said is the main cause of choking of drains/nallahs and causes serious health hazards, adding that everybody should use dustbins/identified garbage collection points by the JMC for the disposal of their regular garbage.
The programme was organized with the active co-ordination of Amarendra Kumar Mishra, Principal, KC Public School, Shobna Sethi, CCA Co-ordinated and other staff.
Dr Zaffar Iqbal was the quiz master, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Darshan Abrol, Sushil Singh, Sanitary Inspector, Ashwani Kumar, Ramesh Kumar and Rachit Gupta.
