JMC starts cleanliness-cum- beautification drive

JAMMU, Oct 12: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal, today started cleanliness-cum-beautification drive in Jammu. The drive started from main Gate of Amar Palace at Manda with planting of different ornamental plants like Ferucaria and Ficus.
Superintending Engineer (R&B) and staff of Horticulture Department also took part in the drive.
During the drive, many unauthorized and illegally installed hoardings and paintings on the wall along the road side were removed by the JMC officials, besides cutting off the bushes on the main gate to give a clean look to the entrance of the City.
Further, the team reached Ved Mandir Chowk, where Wattal issued instructions for de-silting of drains and nallahs on the road side. The Commissioner, JMC interacted with the PWD authorities for covering of the drains and nallahs for cleanliness of the area.
The Officers accompanying the Commissioner were Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Executive Engineer (Central), Chief Transport Officer, and others.
