JAMMU, May 29: Jodhamal Public School of District Jammu defeated National Academy Higher Secondary School, Udhampur, while KC International of Jammu got better of DPS Raj Bagh of Kathua to win the Under-14 and Under-17 boys Subroto Mukerji football titles, here today.
Earlier, in Under-14 boys Subroto Mukerji Cup, Jodhamal Public School prevailed over National Academy HSS by two goals to nil (2-0). Milan Pandita and Aeryan Katal netted one goal each for the winners.
In Under-17 boys Subroto Cup, KC International blanked DPS Raj Bagh by three goals to nil (3-0) via tie-breaker. Ajay Lakha, Anubhav and Sidharth were the goal scorers for the winners.
Meanwhile, in Under-14 football final, Jammu District Jammu thrashed Kathua by four goals to nil (4-0) in an easy contest. Himanshu, Aryan, Amandeep and Wardan scored one goal each for the winners, while in football Under-17 boys final, Jammu again defeated Kathua by two goals to nil (2-0) to win the title. Parvinder Pal Singh and Manav Gupta scored one goal each.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of Annual Calendar of Activities.
Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed trophies, certificates and medals among the teams and players on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Director said that the DYSS was keen to provide all facilities to the sportspersons to help them hone their skill and perform at the higher levels.
