Jodhamal NCC Girl-Cadets bag first Prize in Trekking Expedition

JAMMU, June 28: Jodhamal Public School, National Cadet Corps (NCC) girl-cadets have brought laurels to school by winning first prize in All India Girls Trekking Expedition.
The Jodhamal National Cadet Corps girls contingent, representing 1st J&K Naval Unit and 1st J&K Girls Battalion NCC, comprising eight cadets participated in the ‘All India Girls Trekking Expedition 2023’ held at Palampur, Himachal Pradesh from June 17 to 24. Jodhamal Public School was the only School from Jammu to participate in this arduous exercise.
There were about 510 girl-cadets from five National Cadet Corps Directorates participating in this intensive exercise are J&K- Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.
During the expedition, the cadets undertook the treks to Mahakal Mandir, Tashi Jong Monastery, Tea Garden, and Indru Nag Temple, at the height of approximately 6000 feet above the sea level.
During the expedition, various Individual and Inter-Directorate Co-Curricular Competitions were organized. In the Inter-Directorate Co-Curricular Activities, the J&K and Ladakh Directorate stood overall first. Following cadets from Jodhamal Public School achieved accolades in various co-curricular events. Praanya Puri and Gurasees Kour Raina were adjudged best in dance whereas Sabgun Kour was declared as the best anchor of the event, Praanya Puri stood overall first in essay writing competition.
The cadets participated in expedition were Cadet Arumina Singh, Cadet Praanya Puri, Cadet Gurasees Kour Raina, Cadet Srishti Sharma, Cadet Vamika Choudhary, Cadet Lavanya Gupta, Cadet Sabgun Kour and Cadet Adfar Haroon Naik. They were escorted by the School’s NCC Officer, Poonam Sarmal, and mentored by the NCC Officers, Poonam Sarmal and Kusum.
