JAMMU, Aug 16: Jodhamal Public School emerged champion in the District Roller Skating Championship by winning maximum medals, while Banyan International School bagged second spot and KC Public School won third place at Skating Rink, M A Stadium, here today.
The competitions were organized by Five Star Club, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association, under the overall supervision of its president, GS Khurmi, while Kamal Anand, Speed Skating coach was the organizing secretary of the event.
Sukhnandan Kumar, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sukhnandan said that the State Government was committed to develop sports infrastructure in nooks and corners of the State, adding that sports and games help youth to shun bad habits and not to derail from the mainstream.
Meanwhile, the skaters who emerged the speed champions in their age groupsd included Vansh Rajput, Jaipreet, Saanch Anand, Yuvraj, Panini, Shreyasm, Krishav, Arnav, Aradhaya, Priyanshi and Anirudh.
In quads 1000 mtrs 8-10 boys, Samanyu Cyrism, Eklavya Sharma and Eklavya Mahajan claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in quads 1000 mtrs 8-10 girls, Suhani Rekhi bagged gold, Pihu Mahajan won silver and Aina Khajuria claimed bronze.
In quads 1000 mtrs 10-12 boys, Abhishek Gupta won gold, Saksham Gupta clinched silver and Sparash Sharma won bronze, while in 10-12 girls in this event, Dhriti Bansal, Isha Verma and Bhavneet Kour claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Panini Sharma bagged gold in quads 1000 mtrs 12-14 boys and silver and bronze in this event went to Sabjot Singh and Anirudh Anand, while in quads 12-14 girls, Jasleen Kourand Kanisha Mahajan won gold and silver respectively.
In quads 14-16 boys, Rakshit Saini won gold, Dhruv Gupta bagged silver and Lakshay Gupta claimed bronze, while in quads above 16 boys, Pallav Gupta bagged gold, Sudesh Kumar won silver and Pratyush Gupta claimed bronze medal.
In inline 1000 mtrs 8-10 boys, Arnav Thakur won gold, Sewa Dhani clinched silver and Udhay Gupta claimd bronze, while in 8-10 girls in this event, Priyanshi Raina and Anya Anand secured gold and silver respectively.
In inline 1000 mtrs 10-12 girls, Garima Jamwal and Saanch Anand bagged gold and silver respectively, while in inline 1000 mtrs 12-14 boys, Jaipreet Singh bagged the gold.
In inline 1000 mtrs 14-16 boys, Vansh Rajput clinched gold, Jaideep Singh won silver and Parth Slathia claimed bronze, while in inline 500 mtrs finals, Vansh Rajput clinched gold, Parth Slathia claimed silver and Jaideep Singh won bronze.
In quads 1000 mtrs 6-8 girls, Ispa Manhas and Tavleen Kour claimed gold and silver respectively, while in loose bearings 8-10 boys, Sidhak Singh, Rizwan Choudhary and Chatinya Gupta won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In loose bearings 0-6 girls, Danika Mohanty won gold, while in quads 500 mtrs 8-10 boys, Yuvraj Singh won gold, Parlhuman Singh claimed silver and Ansh Andotrta clinched bronze.
