Jora, CIC, CEC Leh call on Governor

JAMMU, Dec 12: Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies called on N.N. Vohra, the Governor at Raj Bhavan today.
Jora briefed the Governor about the progress achieved in the implementation of Master Plans 2021 of Jammu and Srinagar cities, for the horizon period of 2031 and 2032 respectively. He also briefed the Governor about the implementation of Rakh-i-Arth project for the early settlement of Dal lake dwellers and implementation of various Central and State schemes in Jammu and Kashmir.
G.R Sufi, State Chief Information Commissioner also called on Mr. Vohra and informed him about the initiatives taken by the Commission for the implementation of the ‘Right To Information Act 2009’ and the efforts being made to generate awareness among the masses regarding their right to seek relevant information from all public offices.
Governor discussed with Mr Sufi the impact, so far, of the RTI route on eradication of corruption.

Rigzin Spalbar, Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh also called on Mr. Vohra briefed him about the steps being taken and progress of the sustainable developmental activities going on in Leh as per the Ladakh Vision Document 2025.
Spalbar apprised the Governor about the preparations going on for the celebration of coming ‘Losar’ Festival on 2nd and 3rd of January 2014. He also briefed the Governor about the efforts being made to attract tourists to Ladakh and upgrading of the tourist infrastructure in consonance with the fragile ecology of the region.
The Governor and CEO also discussed the role of SKUAST-K in promoting agricultural and related activities in the remote Border blocks of Leh District.
