Jora visits Rajiv Gandhi Sports Museum Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 17: The Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora has asked the sports fraternity to imbibe spirit of hardwork, dedication and selfless service from the former leading players which they have rendered for the cause of sports promotion adding that their pioneering role should be a guiding factor and source of inspiration for youngsters.
While visiting Rajiv Gandhi Mini Sports Museum at Karan Nagar Jammu today, Mr Jora lauded the role Prof Ashutosh Sharma in promoting sports.
The Sports Museum has been setup by Professor Ashutosh who has dedicated it to former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi who has been the spirit behind the successful conduct of IX ASIAN Games in 1982 at Delhi.
Mr Jora said that the Govt will explore all possibilities to arrange a piece of land for housing the collection of Olympic and other sports memorabilia.
Earlier, Professor Ashutosh, while briefing the Minister about his 60 years long voyage in the field of Sports at State at National and International levels suggested providing a suitable piece of land somewhere in Jammu city so that the sports collection of mementos, photographs and Olympic memorabilia could be preserved for the posterity as a heritage.
