JAMMU, May 27: The JP Premier League under the theme ‘Say no to Drugs’ was declared open today in the premises of Birla Open Minds International School (BOMIS).
In total 9 teams namely JP Panthers, Sun Risers, J&K Indians, Federal Cricket Club, Batra Lions, HDFC Challengers, Team Mirchi, Nexa Superkings and CRPF Royals are playing in the League. Ashok Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion, who declared the JP Premier League open by unveiling the trophy.
Aparana Kohli, Principal of the School, addressed the participants and explained the vision behind organizing the Cricket league. “This was an effort to generate healthy living among youth with slogan ‘Say no to drugs’. Physical activity can strengthen resistance to drug addiction,” said Aparna Kohli, who organized the event.
The first match was played between Federal Cricket Club (FCC) and CRPF Royals and the match was won by FCC. The second match played between Team Mirchi and Birla Sunrisers was won by Team Mirchi. The third match was played between HDFC and Batra Lions in which HDFC emerged winner. The fourth match was played between CRPF Royals and Nexa Superkings in which Nexa Superkings emerged as winners. The fifth match played between JP Panthers and HDFC Challengers was won by JP Panthers.
Federal Cricket Club, Mirchi Team, JK Indians and JP Panthers qualified for semi finals, which will be played tomorrow. The final match will also be played tomorrow.
