JP World claims twin basketball titles, GHPS excels in hockey

JAMMU, May 23: JP World School lifted under-14 and under-17 boys basketball titles, while Guru Harkrishan Memorial High School Simbal Camp claimed Under-14 and Under 17 hockey titles in the Inter-School competitions of Jammu district in the disciplines of basketball, hockey, football, softball and handball, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at various venues, here.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
In under-14 boys basketball, JP World drubbed St Peters School by 8 baskets (16-8) in the finals to win the title, while in under-17 boys, JP World again thrashed St Peters by 17 baskets (27-10) to lift the trophy.
Earlier, in the semifinal clashes of under-14 years category, JP World trounced KC International by 17 baskets, while St Peters beat MHAC Nagbani by 4 baskets, while in under-17 semifinals, JP World thrashed JK Public School by 31 baskets, while St Peters School got a narrow win by 2 baskets over KC Public School.
In handball events, Delhi Public School scripted a thrilling one goal win over KC Public School to claim under-17 years boys title, while in under-14 final, Heritage School beat Rainbow School by one point in a tight contest to claim the title.
In semifinal clashes, KC Public beat Heritage, while Delhi Public School outplayed Chander Bagha School in under-17 handball.
Hockey Under-14 and Under-17 titles went to Guru Harkrishan Memorial High School Simbal Camp by defeating HSS Gole Gujral and St Peters HSS Karan Bagh respectively.
Meanwhile, in football Under-17, Army Public School Miran Sahib trounced St Peters Karan Bagh by (4-0), KC International beat SRML by (3-0) and JK Public School beat Army Public School by (5-3), while in Under-14 boys football, Delhi Public School blanked Heritage School by (2-0) via tie breaker, Army Public School Domana beat St Peters BC Road by (4-0), SOS outplayed Spring Dale by (4-0), Ashoka HSS Krishna Nagar beat Maha Saraswati Shishu Vidhya Mandir by (3-0), KC Public School trounced DBN by (2-0), MHAC Nagbani outclassed JP World by (2-0), KC Public blanked JK Public by (4-0), KC International defeated Delhi Public School by (2-1) and SOS beat Army Public School Domana by (4-2).
