*GHS Chadwal emerges overall winner in Judo

JAMMU, May 17: Inter School and Zonal Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) continued in full-swing at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competitions for under-14 and 17 boys in the discipline of Football concluded today at GGM Science College.
In under-17 category final, JP, World School smashed Jodhamal Public School by 3-1 goals. Earlier, in the first semis, Jodhamal School crushed St Peter School BC Road by straight two goals to zero, whereas in the second semi-final, JP World School beats Jodhamal Public School by 3-1 goals via tie-breaker.
UDHAMPUR: District Level Inter Zonal Tournament for under-14 and 17 girls in the disciplines of Handball and Badminton and District Level Inter School Tournament in Table Tennis concluded at Mini Stadium Udhampur.
In under-14 Handball final, Udhampur Zone defeated Jib Zone by 6-2 goals, whereas in under-17 category, Udhampur Zone thrashed Majalta Zone by straight six goals to zero in the final match.
In under-14 Table Tennis, Amriti Thakur of National Academy School defeated Sandli Singh of APS Udhampur by 2-1 in Singles events, whereas in under-17 category, Madhu Thakur of National Academy Udhampur defeated Ujala of GGHSS Udhampur by 2-1 in the final match.
In Doubles, Madhu Thakur and Kritika Gupta of National Academy emerged winner after defeating Anuradha and Ujala of GGHSS by 2-1 in the summit clash.
In under-14 Badminton, Rashmi of Zone Jib defeated Tanvi of Zone Chenani by 2-0 in Singles, whereas in doubles, Himanshi and Rashmi of Zone Jib thrashed Tanvi and Misbah of Zone Chenani by 2-0.
In under-17 Badminton final, Stuti Verma of Zone Udhampur defeated Sabha of Zone Tikri by 21-11 and 21-16 in the final match, whereas in Doubles, Stuti Verma and Parul of Zone Udhampur crushed Sabha and Mashoom of Zone Tikri by 21-11 and 21-14.
In the concluding function, DYSSO Udhampur Sudesh Kumar Chalotra distributed medals to the winners and runner-up teams.
KATHUA: Inter School District Level Tournaments in the disciplines of Judo, Kick Box and Taekwando concluded at Sports Stadium here.
The overall championship in under14 boys and girls in Judo discipline was GHS Chadwal of Zone Hiranagar and GHS Airwan remained at second place. In under-14 and 17 Taekwando discipline, DPS Rajbagh become Champion and KV Hiranagar secured runner-up position.
In under-17 Judo (girls), Arti Devi, Monika Devi, Sanjana Sharma, Shallu Devi, Asha Devi, Neha, Soloni Salotra and Anmol Sharma registered wins in their respective weight categories and qualified for State Level Competitions.
In under-14 Judo (boys), Manoj Kumar, Irshad Ali, Tahir Hussain, Vishal Kumar, Rahul Choudhary, Vishal Kumar and Govind Sharma emerged winners in their respective weight categories and registered berth in State Level Competitions.
In under-17 Judo (boys), Shivam, Piyush, Gouri Dev, Mohit Singh, Karan and Keshav Khajuria crushed their rivals in their respective weight categories and sailed into State Level Competitions.
SAMBA: Inter School Zone Level Athletics Championship for under-17 boys was held here today.
In 100 meters, Monu Kumar of GHSS Boys Samba emerged winner, whereas in 200 meters, Naresh Kumar of GHS Nud clinched first position, in 400 meters, Rahul Kumar of GHS Sarna secured first position, in 800 meters, Ravi Sharma of GHS Sarna emerged winner, in 1500 meters, Pankaj Singh of GHS Sarna claimed first position and in 3000 meters, Ravi Sharma of GHS Sarna emerged winner.
In Discus Throw, Bantu Ram of GHS Balore emerged winner, whereas in Shot-Put, Visya Singh of GHS Balore clinched first position.
In Javelin Throw, Pankaj Singh of CMP Nud bagged first position.
DODA : Two days Inter School Tournament for under-14 and 17 boys and girls in the discipline of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Wrestling and Athletic commenced at GHSS Berarru Bhalla.
In under-14 Kho-Kho (boys), GMS Gouda beats GMS Panare, whereas in under-17 category, GHSS Malothi defeated GHSS Berarru.
In under-14 Kabaddi (boys), GHSS Dradhu emerged winner by defeating GMS Gajoth, whereas in under-17 category, GHS Seri beats GHSS Chakrabhati.
In under-14 Volleyball (boys), GMS Gutassa beats GHSS Berarru.
In under-14 Kabaddi (girls), GHSS Berarru beat GMS Gouda, whereas in under-17 category, GHSS Malothi smashed GHSS Berarru.
In under-17 Volleyball (girls), GHS Bhalla crushed GHS Dugli.
In under-17 Kho Kho (girls), GHS Bhalla defeated GHSS Berarru, whereas in under-14 category, GHSS Berarru crushed GMS Gouda.
