JAMMU, Aug 31: Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation (JPBEF) has expressed concern over the announcement of Union Finance Minister yesterday regarding the merger of 10 Public Sector Banks (PSBs).

“The Bank employees of this country strongly opposed such retrograde and anti people steps which aims at reducing the banking services to general public. Such mergers limit the employment potentials in general because such mergers result in a closure of lot of small and medium branches which particularly serve rural and semi urban population of the country”, he added.
Gupta expressed that bank employees are total oppose to such policies of the Central Government which will destablise the public sector of the country. Such policies, Gupta asserted are surely sliding country into an economic depression of unprecedented scale.
JPBEF in tune with the voice of all the bank employees of the country condemns such policies of the Government which are bound to be disastrous of the country’s economy in coming days.
The Federation as a token of its opposition to all such policies of Government held mass meetings of employees in various banks of the Province, wherein they demanded immediate reversal of such policies.
