JAMMU, May 23: Jammu Premier League (JPL) Tigers outclassed JPL Lions by 6 wickets to script the second consecutive win in the ongoing selection trial matches of the 30 selected probables at MA Stadium, here today.
It may be recalled that out of these 30 selected players, 3 are to be sent for advanced training/coaching shortly by the Indian Army and the Ministry of Youth Services and Sports J&K.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, JPL Lions scored a modest total of 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Nihal Khajuria was the top scorer with 63 runs including 10 boundaries, while Sunil was the only other batsman to cross the double figure by scoring 12 runs. For JPL Tigers, Adnan scalped 3 wickets, while Abid and Ankush claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, JPL Tigers chased the target easily in 18.4 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Tauseef was the top scorer with 47 runs including 5 boundaries, while Jaspreet contributed quick-fire 31 runs with 3 sixes and one four. Abid also contributed 23 runs to the total. Siddant took 2 wickets for JPL Lions, while Paras and Shivam claimed one wicket each.
