JPPF to celebrate Oct 27 as Accession Day

JAMMU, Oct 25: Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) has decided to celebrate the Accession Day (Vilay Divas) on October 27 as a State festival being an auspicious day, when the instrument of accession duly signed by Maharaja Hari Singh was accepted by the Lord Mountbatten on behalf of Government of India, making the State as integral part of India.
After deliberating with the members, JPPF president, Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj, appealed all Jammuites to celebrate the day and conduct flag hoisting ceremony at every district, tehsil and village on the occasion.
He further appealed the sabhas, societies, traders, transporters, NGOs, legal luminaries and intellectuals to make special arrangements for the celebration ward wise so that the message and the significance of the day percolates down to the grassroots level.
Bhardwaj disclosed that JPPF has unanimously decided to conduct flag hoisting ceremony at its headquarter, Thakkar Sabha, Dogra Hall, Jammu on the day at 10 am, after which a rally will be taken out up to Mahjan Sabha, Shalamar Road.
