JSM appreciates Union Govt for relief operation

JAMMU, Sept 12: Prof Virender Gupta, president, Jammu State Morcha appreciated the Government of India for taking war-like initiative in provided rescue and relief operation to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the unprecedented disastrous situation caused due to heavy rains floods and landslides.
He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir extremely respect the efforts of Indian Army, Air Force, Indian Navy, other Para- military forces and NDRF in rescuing the people and in providing relief.
Prof Virender Gupta, on behalf of Jammu State Morcha  expressesed great anguish over the tragedy caused in Jammu region due to floods and landslides, particularly of far flung areas of Rajouri, Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Poonch and said the people are finding themselves in hapless condition.
It looks that Government of India is focusing all its attention in carrying rescue and relief operations in the Valley, neglecting the affected people in Jammu region. The local administration has miserably failed to provide assistance to the people residing in the hilly terrains, inspite of the tall claims of the respective district administrations.
Prof Virender Gupta also asked the Government of India for separate allocation of relief funds for Jammu region and also ensure proper utilization of the funds being provided to the State at this moment of great disaster.
Prof Gupta strongly condemned the attitude of some of the leaders of the governing alliance who remained mute spectators to this great tragedy.
