JAMMU, Nov 30: Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS), celebrated the rich Dogra heritage through its annual cultural event, ‘Jubilant and Progressive Jammu, here today.’ The program highlighted the region’s vibrant traditions and aimed to instill pride in students about their cultural roots.
The event welcomed dignitaries, including Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chairman of JDA, as chief guest, Prof. Lalit Mangotra, renowned Dogri writer, as guest of honour, and Snigdha Singh, Principal of Police Public School, Bemina, as special invitee. The program began with traditional rituals, including lamp lighting, Saraswati Vandana, and a welcome song.
Cultural performances showcased Jammu’s diversity through Dogri songs, skits, and regional dance forms, such as Gojri, Bhaderwahi and Pahari. The event also celebrated student achievements in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, with special awards presented for inter-school competitions.
Chief guest Pankaj Kumar Sharma lauded the school’s efforts to embrace and promote local traditions, while Prof. Lalit Mangotra appreciated the focus on preserving Jammu’s culture and language.
The event concluded with a grand finale and heartfelt thanks from coordinators Pooja Wazir and Trishna. Principal Rohini Aima emphasized the importance of celebrating diversity and fostering cultural pride among students.
