JAMMU, Sept 20: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, marked the grand inauguration of the CBSE Cluster XVIII Kho-Kho Championship 2024 for Girls, a significant event promoting sports among young female athletes. The occasion was graced by chief guest Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General of the Youth Services & Sports Department, and other distinguished guests including Dr Vikesh Kaur, Principal of Doon International School and President of the Jammu Sahodaya School Complex as guest of honour alongwith Dr. Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Principal of Model Academy and Zonal Coordinator for NTA, Dr. KCS Mehta, Director Academics of IDPS Akhnoor Advisor to the Jammu Sahodaya School Complex, Ved Prakash, Joint Director, Jitendra Mishra, Deputy Director of YSS, and Harvinder Kour, DYSSO Jammu as special invitees.
The ceremony began with a welcome song, followed by an address by Rohini Aima, Principal and Vice-Chairperson of Jammu Sanskriti School, emphasizing the values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience gained through sports. Rajinder Singh Tara applauded the empowerment sports bring to young girls, urging participants to embrace teamwork and leadership.
The event also featured a vibrant cultural program and a friendly match, setting the tone for the championship while fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie.
