JAMMU, Nov 13: Primary wing of Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu (JSSJ) celebrated ‘Annual Sports Meet –Abhudaya” with zeal and ardour, wherein Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul was the chief guest on the occasion, here today.
Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice chairperson JSS welcomed the chief guest along with other dignitaries and coaches. Sapling presentation as a token of regard was also done by Junior Head Boy, Jatin and Junior Head Girl, Misthi.
Formal inauguration of the event was conducted by releasing balloons and lighting of torch, followed by ‘Ganesh Vandana’ by the students and the march past by Grade-5 Sanskritians was an appealing one.
The oath ceremony was also organized during the program. The students of class-5th delineated Yoga asanas in enthralling form, after that different races were organized including hurdle race, sack race, relay race, martial arts and tug of war wherein students demonstrated the team spirit.
Harpreet Singh Anand (Chairman JSS), Sunakshi Anand (Director Operations JSS, Jammu), Avneet Kour Budhraja (Vice –Principal), Prabhjot Kour (Headmistress), Varuna Mangotra (Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction), Meena Bhagat (Coordinator middle wing), Pooja Sharma Wazir (Asst. coordinator primary wing) and Harmeet Kour (Asst. coordinator pre-primary wing) and Tarmeet Raina (Administrative Officer) were present in the program.
The chief guest applauded the talent of Sanskritians and congratulated the Principal, management and sports faculty of the School for fostering the sports knack in such an elevated and lofty manner.
Prominent personalities of sports including Ashok Singh (Div. Sports Officer Jammu), Kripal Singh (International Gymnastic player), Anil Sharma (In-charge Kho-Kho), Satpat Singh (Football coach), Suraj Bhan (Chief Judo coach), Gurcharan Singh (Athletic coach) and many others were present during the event.
The chief guest along with Rohini Aima and other sports dignitaries felicitated the winners in different categories. The senior wing students were also awarded by the chief guest for their magnificent and distinguished achievement under different sports categories.
The event culminated with a grand finale dance presented by Grade-3 Sanskritians, while Varuna Mangotra presented vote of thanks and at last the sports meet culminated with the National Anthem.
