JAMMU, July 20: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K held a protest at Jagti Nagrota Jammu today.
Addressing the protestors Shadi Lal Pandita president, Jagti JTC and Soan Kashmir Front said that the monthly cash relief of relief holder’s is very low. It is not possible to make both ends meet so cash relief should be increased from Rs 13,000 to, Rs 25,000.
The protesters said that the unemployment among educated youth of Kashmiri Pandit community is on the rise from last seven years. They demanded 20,000 jobs so that unemployed youth can be rehabilitated and rest posts under Prime Minister’s employment package be also filled up. They said that migrant relief holders and pensioners should also be given five kg of rice and other facilities under the economic package because the corona virus entire business was shut down and people doing private jobs had to remain idle. The protesters were demanding that the status of people of Jammu and Kashmir be maintained. They also demanded that in J&K only the educated unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir should be given jobs.
They said that most of the states in India have their own status and they have maintained it. Similarly the status of Jammu and Kashmir should be maintained. Raj Kumar Tickoo convener and unit president of JTC / SKF said that the Kashmiri Pandits have been suffering a lot due to property loss for the last 30 years almost every family has a loss of Rs. 4 lakh a year, so each family should be given Rs.1crore as compensation. Sunil Koul general secretary of the organization said that Rs.25 lakh should be given to over-aged youth so that they can run their own business.
