JU clears stand on suspended employee playing All India Vice Chancellor’s T-20 Tourney

JAMMU, Nov 22: Employees who are suspended for some reasons by Jammu University were eligible to play in the ongoing All India Vice Chancellor’s T 20 Cricket Tournament as they will not get any monetary benefits out of this tournament.
This was stated by Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Jammu University and Organizing Secretary of All India Vice Chancellor’s T-20 Cricket Cup Tournament during a press conference here today.
He said that a suspended employee can play in any tournament as he will not be given any such certificate, which will help him in getting promotion in job and that he cannot claim for any type of sports SRO after participating in the tournament.
Prof Bhau was referring to the allegations levelled by some individuals/groups that Jammu University has allowed Akash Bholla to participate in the on-going tournament.
Prof Bhau informed that the permanent employees of the University were invited to participate in the trial then in the coaching camp and finally the Cricket experts from Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) selected a team of 17 probables.
There are certain splinter groups that are raising the queries regarding the participation of Akash Bhola who is a permanent employee of the University and was placed under temporary suspension.
Sunil Sahi, Manager, Jammu University team and president, JUNTEU, said that Akasg Bhola has neither been charge-sheeted nor certain quantum of punishment has been awarded to him. The rules governing permanent employees clearly state that the suspension is not a punishment and employees are entitled to all the benefit except reduction in their salary, he informed.
