JAMMU, June 23: Jammu University employees team defeated Press Club XI in a friendly tie at University ground, here today.
Batting first, Press Club XI scored a modest total of 99 runs. None of the batsmen showed much resistance against disciplined bowling by JU bowlers, who hit good areas and bowled with nagging line and teasing length. For JU, skipper Rajesh Sahotra, Vishal Sudan and Sunny took 2 wickets each, while Sandeep Bakshi and Niranjan claimed 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, JU chased the target easily in 10.3 overs. Deepak scored 56 runs, while Vishal contributed 22 runs to the total.
Pawan Singh Bhau, Manager JU Employees Cricket team lauded the efforts of the players for this win.
