JU Employees Cricket Tourney gets underway

JAMMU, Sept 9: Jammu University Employees (Men) Cricket Tournament got underway at University Ground, here today.
The Tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba and Incharge Campus PTI, Raj Kumar Bakshi (Cricket Coach).
Today, the match was played between Team A and Team D. Batting first, Team D scored a total of 108 in stipulated 20 overs by losing all wickets. Sunny scored highest 30 runs while Shubam added 23 and Abdul contributed 11 runs to the teams’ total. For Team A, Abhinav scalped 3 wickets in his 4-over spell and gave only 9 runs while Shammi took 3 wickets by giving 12 runs in 4-over spell. Sumit also took 2 wickets.
Batting 2nd, Team A managed to chase the target in 18 overs and won the match by 5 wickets in a close contest. Shammi scored highest 33 runs while Abhinav and Munish scored 30 and 15 runs respectively. For Team D, Abdul scalped 2 wickets and Sanjeev took 1 wicket.
Danish, Saleem and Farhan were umpires for the match.
