JU Law School organizes workshop on International Humanitarian Law

JAMMU, May 28: The Law School in University of Jammu organized a workshop on International Humanitarian Law, in collaboration with International Committee.
The workshop was organized to further strengthen the teaching in the subject of International Humanitarian Law.
Synod Jacob, Legal Adviser, IHL, ICRC, was the resource person on the occasion. In his presentation, he focused upon the issues of Humanitarian Law, the principles and the peculiarities of the Geneva Convention.
Further through a documentary, he highlighted the relevance of International Humanitarian Law in the contemporary scenario.
Rizwana Rashid, the Communication Officer ICRC Jammu, in her introductory remarks, presented a brief note on activities, role and mandate of ICRC.
Bruce John, delegate ICRC, Dr Sanjay Gupta, Director of The Law School, Raj Kumar, Dr Seema Rohmetra, Dr Shubha Vats, Dr Renu Jamwal, Dr Mrinalini Atrey, Dr Navdeep Kour, Dr Deepti Gupta, Rajneesh Khajuria, Rana Ravinder Singh, Dr Rinku Gupta and Divya Gupta were also present during the workshop.
Dr Seema Sharma presented the welcome address while Dr Monica Narang presented the vote of thanks.
