JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu University defeated Cluster University, Srinagar by four goals to two (4-2) to lift the Hockey (Men) title in the ongoing Chancellor’s Trophy-2019, here.
Navjot Singh scored two goals for Jammu University team in the 7th and 14th minutes of the match, while Rakshit Sharma also scored two goals in 48th and 60th minutes of the match.
For Cluster University Srinagar, Hardeep Singh and Angatdeep Singh netted the goals in the 2nd and 18th minutes of the game respectively.
Meanwhile, JU Hockey (Women) team also won the Chancellor’s Trophy-2019 Hockey (W) Tournament after beating Cluster University, Srinagar in the 2nd match (out of best of three games) by five goals to nil (5-0) goals. Sita Sharma scored the goal in 8th minute, while Parvneet Kour netted the goals in 17th and 43rd minutes respectively. Minakshi Khajuria (27th minute) and Manpreet Kour (56 minute) scored goals for Jammu University team.
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu along with Ashok Singh, Manager KK Hakhu Stadium, Jammu and Varinder Sharma, In-charge STC Jammu interacted with the team players before the start of the matches.
Aman Sharma (SAI Basketball Coach), Satpal Sharma (SAI Badminton Coach), Dev Raj (SAI Handball Coach), Rajiv K. Dogra (SAI Volleyball Coach) and Kalyani (SAI Wushu Coach) were also present on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Dalvinder Singh, Joginder Singh, Mukesh Sharma, Jaggit Singh, Tanvir Singh and PD Singh.
