JAMMU, Nov 9: Inter-Collegiate Gatka (Men & Women) Championship 2016-17 was organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In men’s section, in the Demonstration Individual Event, Gurvinder Singh (SPMR College of Commerce) won gold, Jujhar Singh (MBS College) won silver medal and Jasmeet Singh of MAM College got bronze medal.
In women’s section, in Fari Stick team event, GCW Gandhi Nagar won gold medal, GCW Parade won silver and PG Department team of Jammu University won bronze medal.
Players of GCW Gandhi Nagar team were Simranjeet Kour, Mandeep Kour and Roshi Kumari, while the players of GCW Parade team were Rasleen Kour, Balvinder Kour and Harneet Kour and the players of PG Department team were Surbhi Antal, Nishla and Sapna Jamwal.
The competition was officiated by the panel of experts comprising of Amarjeet Singh, Harsimran Singh, Ravinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Parvinder Singh, Rupinder Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Yashpreet Singh.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Manmeet Singh, Ravinder Singh, Prof. Davinder Kour, Suman Lata, Prof. Poonam Rajput and PD Singh.
