JU SC/ST employees discuss HC judgement on promotion

JAMMU, Oct 23: The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association held its meeting, here today under the chairmanship of the Association president R L Kaith and discussed High Court judgement abolishing reservation in promotion.
The meeting said that the SC/ST people of the State have not come at par with the evolved products of the society and as such the High Court of J&K judgement dated October 9, 2015 that abolished benefits of reservation in promotions, will deprive these people to rise up and keep their place in the society.
The Association urged upon the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed and all SC/ST Ministers to ensure equal upliftment and advancement of weaker sections in the State at all levels.
Meanwhile, the Association also urged an early action on the representations submitted to the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar during a meeting held in the office-chambers of the Vice-Chancellor on September 14, 2015.
Prominent among others,  who attended the meeting,  included Surjeet Singh Heer, Om Parkash, Sukhdev Bhagat, Kunj Lal Bhagat, Mohd Farooq and many others.
