JAMMU, Apr 4: The office bearers of Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA) along with those of Non-Teaching as well as Non Gazetted Employees Unions of the university today lodged a protest against the Vice-Chancellor and his administration for continuous betrayal on the promises made to teachers and other employees of JU from time to time.
The agitating teachers and Non-teaching employees gathered outside the Vice-Chancellor’s office and began their protest. Prof Pankaj Srivastava, President JUTA, led the protest and highlighted the issues faced by the university employees in general and teaching fraternity in particular.
The President JUTA said that despite best efforts and a series of meetings with the administration in the last six months, they have received zero response from the Vice-Chancellor and his administration.
The main issues and demands, highlighted by the university employees, included the rate of interest on GPF as per the UT Government, streamlining of New Pension Scheme of the teachers/employees, repair of allotted Staff Quarters and clearance of related files, etc.
