JAMMU, July 21: Superb all-round performance by skipper Rajesh Salhotra helped Jammu University to beat JK Press Club XI by 63 runs in a friendly match at Varsity ground, here today.
Batting first, JU made 176 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Rajesh Salhotra top scored with 56 runs, while Deepak, Niranjan and Sandeep contributed 46, 21 and 17 runs respectively, thus gave a challenging target to JK Press Club XI
In reply, JK Press Club XI bundled out for 114 runs. From Press XI none of the batsmen showed any resistance. From JU, Rajesh Salhotra took 4 important wickets while Vishal Sudan, Avtar, Ayush and Sandeep took one wicket each.
Team Manager Pawan Singh Bhau congratulated the team for the win. This wass JU’s 19th consecutive victory in friendly matches.
