JAMMU, Dec 6: The Vice Chancellor of Jammu University had an extensive tour to Surankote and Poonch Campuses of the University.
At Surankote, he visited the two proposed sites of the University Campus. The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Revenue officials of the Poonch district who informed that the proposed two sites may be provided to the University for opening its campus free of cost and they also informed that both the sites are free from any legal hassle.
The Vice Chancellor also visited the Poonch Campus and examined the progress of the work done in the Campus. He also visited the Government Degree College Poonch and interacted with the teaching faculty and students of first and third semester of PG Programme Sericulture. Some of the students enlisted the problems faced by them and gave a written representation to the Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor also interacted with the Principal and faculty of the Govt. Degree College Poonch. The faculty highlighted the problems being faced by them regarding adjustment of advances, deposit of unused stationery on the termination of the examinations. They requested the Vice Chancellor to constitute an evaluation centre at Poonch.
The Vice Chancellor suggested the faculty to attend refresher courses/orientation courses and organize seminars/workshops particularly on how to write the project and how to write a paper. The Vice-Chancellor promised them that the University will consider partial financing of the workshop/seminar. He was accompanied by Prof M A Malik, Director, Poonch Campus, J K Sharma, Director, Colleges Development, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Coordinator Campuses and S K Pandita, Executive Engineer, University Works Department.
The Vice Chancellor and Director CDC also paid surprise visit to the Himalayan Degree College and Himalayan College of Education.
