All India Vice Chancellors’ T 20 Cricket Tournament

SRINAGAR, Sept 9: Univ-ersity of Jammu defeated Kashmir University in a close contest by 9 runs to seal berth in the semifinals of the ongoing All India T-20 cricket tournament, being organized by Kashmir University, here.
Batting first, University of Jammu scored a modest total of 122 runs in 20 overs. Skipper of the team, Rajesh Salhotra top scored with 46 runs off 23 balls, while Niranjan Singh contributed 25 runs to the total.
In reply, Kashmir University bundled out for 114 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 9 runs. Avtar and Sandeep bowled splendidly, claiming 3 wickets each, while Balwant bagged 2 wickets. Rajesh and Sumit shared one wicket each.
Rajesh Salhotra was declared as the man of the match for his all-round performance.
Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, JU, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports and Physical Education, Pawan Singh Bhau, President JUNTEU and Sham Lal Sharma, Manager of the team complemented the players for this victory.
