SRINAGAR, June 14: Under the guidance and patronage of chief patron of State Judicial Academy, Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Committee of Judges, State Judicial Academy Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman and Justice Hasnain Masoodi, Member), one day refresher course for Munsiffs/Judicial Magistrates of Kashmir province on “Sections 42, 52 and 56 of Specific Relief Act and “Sections 105 to 107 of Transfer of Property Act and Section 106 to 114 of Evidence Act” was organized today by the Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy.
Justice Bashir A. Kirmani, former Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and presently Chairman, State Consumer redressal Commission, was the resource person.
The programme was conducted by Pawan Dev Kotwal, Director, State Judicial Academy. In his introductory remarks, Director, State Judicial Academy deliberated on the need for such refresher programmes for the Judicial Officers.
Justice Kirmani dealt with 1st and 2nd topics of the programme. He exhaustively explained the provisions of Sections 42, 52 to 56 of Specific Relief Act i.e. Discretion of court as to declaration of status or right, preventive relief how granted, temporary and perpetual injunctions, and Lease u/s 105, 106 and 107 of Transfer of Property Act.
Post lunch-session was dealt by Pawan Dev Kotwal, Director, State Judicial Academy who by his vast and varied experience as District and Sessions Judge made this part of programme more interesting and absorbing by dictating some court orders and legal terms and interacting with Judicial Officers.
