JAMMU, Oct 9: An 8-day long Judo Camp cum Championship in Under-14 and Under-17 Blind and Specially-abled Girls organised by the All J&K Blind & Para Judo Association concluded at Louis Braille School for Sightless Girls, Roop Nagar, here today.
The Chanpionship was sponsored by Rotary Club Jammu Aastha.
Ranjeet Kalra, Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Government of Lakshadweep and President of J&K Blind and Para Judo Association was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
Kalra while speaking on the occasion thanked the Rotary Club Aastha for their whole hearted contribution in organising the sports meet.
He also appreciated the selfless services of J&K Sports Council senior coaches including Judo coach Suraj Bhan Singh and Boxing Coach Anil Whadera for training the specially-abled players.
He also congratulated the talented girls for overcoming heavy odds and for good performances.
Office bearers of the Club, Nirmal Gupta, Somil Goyal, Amit Gupta, Surinder Bansal, journalist Vikas Abrol, Agaya Chauhan, Principal of the Blind School, Mohinder Kumar Badyal J&K Convenor Blind Federation of India, Sumit Gupta and Sheikh Altaf, Secretary Global Peace Foundation were present on the occasion.

The Club members and the Officers of BFI also felicitated Mr Kalra for his contribution in promoting sports among specially-abled players.
It is pertinent to mention here that the specially-abled players have been bringing laurels and winning medals in the games held in various states of the country.
Around thirty girls took part in the Camp.
