KATHUA, July 24: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua organised competitions of Judo and Handball during Inter School District Level Tournament at Sports Stadium Kathua and St. Xavier Convent School Hatli, here.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua, Subash Chander Bhardwaj, while Zonal Physical Education Officer, Sukesh Kumar was the convener.
The matches were officiated by Punjab Singh, Pankaj Spolia, Ramesh Singh, Gurusharan Singh, Rakesh Manhas and Parveen Singh.
In Judo Under-19 boys, Sohan Singh of GHSS Kathera, Shivam Singh of GHSS Marheen, Mohd. Irfan Khan of Little Angel School Kathua, Pawan Singh of National Academy Chadwal, Nazir Ahmed of GHSS Kerian, Tarbeej Singh of MHS DAV Kathua got first positions in below 45, 50, 55, 60, 66, 73 kg weight categories respectively, while in Judo Under-19 girls, Arti Devi of GHSS Marheen, Ritika Sharma of GHSS Kerian, Komal Sharma of GHSS Kathua, Sanjana Sharma of GHSS Marheen stood first in below 36, 48, 52, 57 kg weight categories respectively. Anmol Devi of GHSS Marheen excelled in above 70 kg weight category.
At Sports Stadium Hiranagar, trials of Hockey for u-19 years boys continued for its second consecutive day which were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Sartaj Singh, Amarjeet Your under the convenorship of ZPEO Hiranagar Yog Raj Sharma.
