JAMMU, May 28: Judokas of Regional Coaching Centre, M.A Stadium Jammu, Shweta Thakur and Danish Sharma have been selected for Indian University Judo team to participate in the World University Games 2015, being held at Gwanjhu in South Korea from July 3 to July 14, 2015.
The team consists of 14 players including seven girls and equal number of boys. Both the judokas will be joining the coaching camp at Amritsar from June 1 to June 30, 2015.
For this achievement, these ace judokas were felicitated by Vikas Gupta, joint secretary, Judo Foundation of India and general secretary J&K Judo Association in the presence of Rajan Sharma, Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council; Arjuna Awardee, Kurpali Singh, Indian Gymnastics coach, besides Judo coaches of Regional Coaching Centre, Suraj Bhan Singh and Ritika Slathia.
Thakur Rachpal Singh, Ex-MLA and president J&K Judo Association lauded the efforts of the judokas for this achievement.
