JAMMU, May 4: BJP State president & Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, chaired a meeting of senior officials of Maintenance Wing of Power Development Department (PDD) to discuss and plan the ways and means for the implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes like IPDS and Deen Dayal Upadhaya Vidhutikaran Yojana.
Mr Sharma sought the details about the work out done so far by the Department and stressed for better coordination between the different wings involved in the implementation of the said projects. He said that there has been repeated complaints of lack of electricity in Jammu, particularly in the Summer months and the people have to suffer on account of power cuts.
He said that IPDS and Deen Dayal Upadhaya Vidhutikaran Yojana has been extended to the State also with a motive to provide round the clock electricity so that the industries do not suffer and domestic activities run smoothly. He said that these projects are therefore of great significance and the concerned departments should make all the available and best efforts to ensure that the projects are not delayed.
He said that the Department may have some problems or hurdles but the same will be solved at the earliest. He also assured that every effort will be made to repair, replace and fix new poles and wires to make it sure that the people of Jammu province do not suffer in these summers due to lack of electricity and drinking water.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Ajay Gupta, Superintending engineers-Gurmeet Singh from Rajouri and Sunil Gupta from Jammu besides Surinder Koul from Doda, who has been nominated as Nodal Officer for implementation of the Centrally sponsored schemes.
