Jugjap, Aryan guide Col Chopra Academy to big win

JAMMU, Dec 5: Young off-spinner Jugjap Singh bowled a magnificent spell to take 4 important wickets, while all-rounder Aryan Gandral played a valuable innings of unbeaten 47 runs to help Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy drub KC International School by 9 wickets in an easy contest of Under-14 Boys T20 Cricket Tournament at III-M (CSIR) ground, here today.
Earlier, K C International School won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a paltry total of 86 runs in 19.5 overs. Danish top scored with 20 runs, while Kanav and Satwik scored 17 runs each. For Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy, Jugjap Singh was the wrecker-in-chief, who spun web around the rival batsmen and took 4 wickets by conceding 17 runs in his 4 overs, while another talented off-spinner Marutwan took 2 wickets. Umar Sadiq and Aryan Gandral claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy scored the required runs in just 5.4 overs, losing one wicket in the process, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Aryan Gandral played a handsome innings of unbeaten 47 runs, while Harsh Dev Singh contributed well-made 39 runs to the total. With this win Col R N Chopra Cricket Academy entered the semifinals.
