Julia Roberts pays tribute to Mike Nichols

LOS ANGELES, Nov 21:  Actress Julia Roberts has paid tribute to late director Mike Nichols, calling him her “most cherished friend” in a touching tribute following his death on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old ‘Pretty Woman’ star worked with the filmmaker on his last two directorial projects, the Oscar-nominated ‘Closer’ in 2004 and ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’ in 2007, and she said the sudden passing of her “remarkable and amazing” has left her devastated, reported People magazine.
“There are so few heroes in our world. So few impeccable craftsmen, so few people who personify unconditional love and friendship. Mike Nichols was like no other. In every way he was remarkable and amazing,” Roberts said.
“His musings were like pearls, his jokes were timeless and perfectly placed, his stories – detailed and wholly entertaining, his warm embrace was where you wanted to live forever,” she added.
Closing her tribute, Roberts said, “He was my most cherished friend.” (PTI)
