JU’s BPEd, MPEd students camp concludes

JAMMU, May 19: A joint Annual Camp for BPEd and MPEd students of Jammu University, conducted by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at Patnitop, concluded today.
The students who have been attending this camp would be evaluated on the basis of their performance by the teachers and coaches during this period and awarded marks as per their  performance in the said camp.
The Camp was attended by 42 students who are undergoing the Courses of MPEd and BPEd for the session 2013.
Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor was the chief guest and Lida Singh was the special guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ishar desired that such Camps should be conducted for all disciplines.
The seven officials that including  Dr Brij Baloria, Romesh Sharma, Ramesh Magotra, Sanjeev Jamwal, Nisha Sharma, Raj Kumar and Jai Bharat were entrusted with the responsibility of  conducting   hiking, tracking, pitching of tents, training of outdoor games, yoga asanas, clay modeling, art, craft, sketching  and above all to create  in them the leadership qualities by assigning them the group task.
The students were taught the educational importance of Camping along with Trekking from Patnitop to Sudhmahadev, Mantalai and back, as also from Patnitop to Nathatop via Potato Farm.
On the final day of the camp a compact and colourful programme was organised jointly by the students which was followed by ‘Camp Fire’ for closing ceremony.
Earlier, Prof Dhain S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education presented welcome address, while Nisha Sharma later-on presented vote of thanks.
Among others present on the occasion were Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC, Neeru Mangotra, Priyanka Katoch and Dr Tapsi Sharma.
