JAMMU, Nov 6: Display Your Talent 2024 – Tawi Zone, being hosted by MIER College of Education, was inaugurated today.
Organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, this three-day cultural event celebrates student creativity across 27 competitions, including music, dance, literary arts, fine arts, and theatre.
In the inaugural event, Prof Monika Chadha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, JU was the chief guest, and Prof Sarika Manhas, Co-Chairperson, as the special guest. Key dignitaries in attendance included Dr Renu Gupta, Chairperson, MIER Group of Institutions; Prof Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, MIER College. Judges of the events included Dr Seema Sharma and Dr Nishtha Sharma for music, and Raju Kerni, Mukesh Gupta, Manoj Chopra, Chander Shekhar and Vikas Dogra for fine arts.
In Group Song (Indian), first position was secured by IMFA, second position by GCW Parade and third position by MIER College. In Cartooning, first position was secured Ishwarya Singh from IMFA, second position by Sonakshi Gupta of MIER and third by position Tanishka of GDC RS Pura.
In Collage Making, first position was bagged by Bharti Verma of IMFA, second position Nikhil Singh of IMFA and third position by Kamaljeet Kour of GDC Paloura. Certificate of Merit was given to Mehak Gupta, DDOE, University of Jammu.
In Photography, first position was bagged by Ashwani Bhat of IMFA, second position by Shriya Bhagat of GDC Akhnoor and third position by Himanshu Angotra of Department of Botany, JU
Certificate of Merit were awarded to Ojasvi Sharma of IMFA and Sumeet Sharma of Department of History, JU.
In Installation event, first position was secured by GDC Akhnoor and second position by IMFA. In Classical Vocal, first position went to Arpana Kumari, second position to Paras Jalotra and third position to Gayatri Kandley. In Light Vocal solo, first position was bagged by Nirmal Kumar, second by Rudra Sharma and third by Ritisha Manhas, Certificate of Merit was given to Gursimar Kaur & Netra Tickoo. In Poster Making, first position was bagged by Vanshika Rajput, second position by Deep Uday Singh and third position by Janvi while Certificate of Merit was given to Ashmeet Kaur and Gurleen Kaur.
