JAMMU, May 11: Jammu University’s inter-departmental tournaments, organised by the Campus Sports Committee in the disciplines of Cricket (Men), Badminton (Men and Women) and Carrom (Men and Women) entered in its 3rd day at University Ground, here today.
In Cricket, the Economic Department beat the Hindi Department by 25 runs, while the Chemistry Department trounced the Department of Journalism by 9 wickets.
In Carrom, History Department defeated Physical Education Department by 2-0, SHTM Department got better of The Law School by 2-0, Geography Department beat Library and Information Department by 2-0 and Commerce Department beat Hindi Department by 2-0, besides in women category, Hindi Department Defeated Economics Department by 2-1 and Commerce Department outplayed Physical Education Department by 2-1.
In Badminton (Men), SHTM Department trounced ICCCR & HRM Department by 2-1, Law School beat Buddhist Department by 2-1, Law Department defeated Geology Department by 2-0 and Physical Education Department trounced Physics Department by 2-0, besides in women section, Law Department beat Chemistry Department by 2-1, Physical Education Department got better of English Department by 2-1 and Physics Department trounced History Department by 2-1.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Jai Bharat, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Manoj Kumar, Thair Mehmood and Saleem-Ur Rehman, while the tournaments are being organized under the supervision of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, chairman of the Campus Sports Committee University of Jammu.
