JAMMU, Apr 27: Jammu University Kickboxing team excelled in the Inter-University Championship and secured nine medals including two gold, three silver and four bronze medals, held at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia University Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh from April 20 to 23.
The men team who excelled in the tournament including Harsh Dev Singh (Gold Medal) and Mohd Arif (Gold Medal), while Dheeraj Partap (Silver Medal), Sahil Ali (Silver Medal) and Aman Dubey (Silver Medal), besides Deepak Kumar (Bronze Medal), Aman Sharma (Bronze Medal), Zafar Iqbal (Bronze Medal), Snehal Sudan (Bronze Medal) and Sahil Chib, Vikas Sharma, Aman Bhau, Bakshi Chanakya, Arjun Singh Kotwal, Deepak Sharma, Nitin Sharma and Naresh Kumar were the part of the team. Danish Padha and Satyam Khajuria have accompanied the team as Coach and Manager respectively.
It is pertinent to mention here that Harsh Dev Singh and Mohd Arif, both gold medallists were selected for coaching camp on the basis of their outstanding performance for World University Games, scheduled to be held at Serbia in the month of August-September this year.
Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu interacted with the winners and congratulated them for the feat. He also lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education for this achievement and for its constant dedication to the upliftment of sports in the University.
Earlier, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports introduced the team members to the Vice-Chancellor and briefed him about the achievements of the players of the men team during the championship.
