JU’s Wushu excels in Inter-university C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 10: The Wushu team of University of Jammu brought laurels by winning Gold, Silver and two Bronze medals in All India Inter-University Wushu Championship, organized by Chandigarh University from February 7 to 11.
The Gold medal was won by Hrithik Charak in 85 kg category, while Silver medal was secured by Gurmeet Singh in 90 kg and two Bronze medal medals by Rohan Sharma in 65 kg and another Bronze medal by Pratham in 80 kg category.
Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai while congratulating the team said that it is a hard work and continual efforts of Directorate of Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu that Sports of JU has established its name not only in Jammu and Kashmir but also has earned its reputation in the entire nation.
The Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu Dr Daud Iqbal Baba briefed that not only in Wushu but in other games JU has played well and earned medals for the University.
The team was headed by Jai Bharat who has put his all experience and efforts to achieve these medals, while the team was trained under the guidance of Dronacharya Awardee, Kuldeep Handoo.
