JWAM stages protest over high prices of petrol, diesel

JAMMU, Feb 5: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held a protest at New-Plot on Janipur-High Court Road against the increased prices of LPG, petrol and diesel.
A large number of poor people, dhaba owners and small traders participated in the protest and raised slogans against the Central Government for hiking the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG gas. They said that high prices of LPG have broken backbone of the common man.
JWAM president Sunil Dimple alleged the Petroleum Minister has increased the prices of the LPG domestic and commercial cylinder. Dimple said the hike in LPG, petrol and diesel prices has been done at a time when the whole India is facing the economic crises due to the pandemic.
He demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring petrol, diesel, LPG under GST and take effective steps to exempt sale tax, VAT, excise duties and surcharges on the sale of petrol, diesel and LPG to relieve the common man of the country.
