JAMMU, Aug 25: A series of competitions in different sports disciplines were held on the second day of Inter School Zonal Level Competitions for girls in Akhnoor.
The competitions were declared open on Thursday for under-19 boys and girls by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Akhnoor at twin venues of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor and J&K Sports Council Indoor Stadium, Akhnoor.
Around 160 girl players drawn from different Government schools and private institutions of Zone Akhnoor participated in the mega event with enthusiasm and showcased their talent. The competitions conducted today were Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Tug-of-War. The main motive of the competition was to select the best talent in each discipline for their further participation in Inter Zonal District Level Tournaments.
ZPEO Akhnoor, Ashok Kumar extended gratitude to all the participants, officials and supporters for their contribution to making the competition a resounding success. The matches were officiated by Ramesh Chandar, Ashnak Raj, Gurmukh Singh, Vijay Tangra, Shambu Dutt, Rinku Kumar, Rahul Dev Singh, Khadim Hussain and Rajesh Sharma.
